Want to become a Swimming Instructor?

As part of our Work Smart programme alongside a number of other partners we’re delighted to be able to offer this free opportunity to undertake the Swim England Level 1 training and have the opportunity to earn employment upon completion.
Enhanced DBS checks are required for all those employed.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for this training, you must be:
18 or over
Unemployed or working 16 hours or less a week or at risk of losing your job
Live in East Sussex and within a travelable distance to Bexhill, Hastings and Rye for training and job opportunities
Be willing to have a DBS check if offered employment
Key dates:
The training schedule looks like this:
Thursday 2nd September at 10:30am to 11:30am - Pre-work experience meeting. Here you will choose suitable dates and times to attend your work experience placement.
Monday 6 September - Work experience week 1 starts
Monday 13 September - Work experience week 2 starts
The days you attend the work experience sessions can be adapted to suit your needs as long as you attend when the swim school is running.
Available work experience days and times are:
Mondays: 4pm – 6pm
Wednesdays: 3:30pm – 6pm
Fridays: 4pm – 6pm
Saturdays: 8:30am – 11:30am
Sunday 19 September (AM) and Monday 20 September (AM) – We’ll be running 1-2-1 feedback meetings.
2 x Online Zoom training dates and then expected Monday 23 September 6pm–9pm (exact date and time to be confirmed)
Thursday September 30 and Friday 1 October at 3pm–6:30pm: Practical training dates.
