Optivo statement on the fire at Grenfell Tower
Optivo statement on the fire at Grenfell Tower
13 June 2017
We are sorry to learn of the tragic events this morning relating to the fire at the Grenfell Tower in North Kensington. The thoughts of everyone at Optivo are with those affected.
We have been liaising with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and are offering our support and assistance.
The cause of the fire and the reason for its spread are not currently known, and will only be confirmed once the Fire Authorities have concluded their investigation.
Optivo takes the safety of its residents and staff extremely seriously and has comprehensive controls in place regarding fire safety which are reviewed and tested on a regular basis.
We work closely with the London Fire Brigade and have a primary partnership agreement in place to audit how we manage fire safety.
If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
Update to statement (Friday 16 June):
We’ve had a high number of calls from concerned residents regarding fire safety in the wake of the tragic events at Grenfell Tower. We want to reassure you all that your safety is our first priority.
We have a 100% Fire Safety Risk Assessment in place for all blocks, and we have been consulting with fire services.
The Grenfell investigation is fast moving and we await the results, as well as any recommendations from the authorities. We will respond positively to any calls to action.
