Work begins at Tulse Hill development

21 September 2021

We've begun work on a development which will deliver 45 much-needed affordable homes to Tulse Hill.

The site, on the corner of Norwood Road and Thurlow Park Road which contained two houses and a commercial unit for a car wash business, is being transformed by Henley Construct Ltd.

The development will feature a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

It will feature a communal open space, private storage, disabled parking, cycle parking, plus refuse and recycling stores.

Richard White, Director of Land and New Business at Optivo, said: “We're really excited to get started with Henley Construct Ltd on this fantastic scheme. It offers residents the chance to become part of an established community in the heart of Tulse Hill. We’re expecting the development to complete in Summer 2023 and look forward to giving residents the keys to their high-quality new homes.”

The scheme will be delivered using modern methods of construction and materials that will significantly enhance the character and appearance of the area.

The apartments, which have been approved by Lambeth Council, are in a highly sought after area within a five-minute walk of Tulse Hill train station. From there, frequent trains run to London Bridge (19 minutes), Blackfriars (16 minutes) and Wimbledon (13 minutes).

Aaron Usmani, Construction Director at Henley Construct, added: “We are delighted to be working with Optivo on the delivery of these much-needed homes for Lambeth. Demolition of the existing structures is well underway, and we’re looking forward to the start of construction.”
