Going Green Gets Us Gold!
Going Green Gets Us Gold!
18 January 2021
Going green has helped us achieve Gold again!
We’ve achieved SHIFT Gold for the third year running!
SHIFT is the sustainability standard for the housing sector.
The latest SHIFT assessment measured how we’re doing against 22 environmental criteria, including CO2 emissions, water use, landfill waste and response to climate change.
It covers every aspect of Optivo, including how energy efficient our homes are.
Our achievements include:
Improving our average SAP score through retrofits and energy upgrades – we now have
71% of homes reaching EPC Band C (SAP 69) and above
. SAP stands for ‘Standard Assessment Procedure’. It is the only official, government approved system for assessing the energy rating for a new home
Helping our customers manage their utility bills –
7,242 residents
have been engaged (either face to face or over the phone) on energy use and water use in the home.
Ensuring that
94%
of our office consumables are responsibly sourced
Engaging
38%
of our top suppliers on sustainability issues through our annual supply chain survey
