Funding awarded for sustainable housing projects
Funding awarded for sustainable housing projects
31 March 2017
We’ve been awarded European Union funding from the Interreg programme to deliver the SHINE and Climate Active Neighbourhoods projects.
SHINE project
The Sustainable Houses in Inclusive Neighbourhoods (SHINE) project is an international partnership, consisting of Belgian, Dutch, French and British partners.
The partners will work together, developing ideas to accelerate energy retrofit in the region. The project is funded from September 2016 to August 2020.
We’ll work with
Hastings Borough Council
and
Citizens Advice 1066
to deliver a major programme of domestic energy efficiency projects in St Leonards, Hastings.
Optivo has been awarded £450,000 and will deliver a 200 home energy retrofit project.
Climate Active Neighbourhoods (CAN) project
We're part of the CAN (Climate Active Neighbourhoods) project partnership, consisting of German, Belgian, Dutch, French and British organisations.
The project has recently been awarded the
Regiostars Award for Category 4 Building Climate Resilient Cities.
The work is focused on improving energy efficiency and reducing fuel poverty. As a result 148 homes in Hastings have now received energy improvements to their homes. Energy advice visits were also carried out.
We worked with
Hastings Borough Council
and
Energise Sussex Coast
to deliver this project.
