First bricks laid for new homes for NHS workers!
First bricks laid for new homes for NHS workers!
19 January 2021
The first bricks have been laid as part of a multi-million pound development building new homes for NHS workers at St Peter’s Hospital.
Our project is boosting housing capacity for key workers by providing 147 high quality apartments at the site in Chertsey.
This development is being delivered over two phases. The first phase will deliver 75 apartments of one, two and four bedrooms across six three-storey blocks.
The second phase will see the existing accommodation demolished and replaced with a further 72 apartments of one, two and four bedrooms. United Living New Homes began building work in July 2020.
Bunmi Atta, Director of Construction at Optivo, added:
“We’re excited to have reached this key early milestone in building much needed affordable homes for our key workers. The development will regenerate and breathe new life into part of the St Peter’s Hospital site. This year the spotlight has continued to shine on our amazing NHS staff. It’s great we’re able to play our part in providing them with comfortable accommodation in a well-designed and modern building, which will encourage a thriving environment.”
The site is located just over a mile from the centre of Chertsey and will benefit from the existing services that currently facilitate the St Peter’s Hospital site.
Gordon O’Regan, Managing Director at United Living New Homes, said:
“NHS staff are amongst the incredible key workers who have and continue to provide a vital service to the public in these challenging times. Building new homes at St Peter’s Hospital for their use is something we are excited by and I look forward to working in partnership with Optivo to bring a wealth of improvements for generations to come.”
