IMAGE: The penalty shoot out at the community fun dayOver 900 local people attended the Heart of Sidley Fun Day on Friday (16 August).

The popular, free, family event was held at Sidley Recreation ground, in Canada Way, Sidley.

Crowds flocked to enjoy a range of activities and their spirits were not dampened by the overcast weather.
On arrival, visitors were invited to join in Heart of Sidley’s free lucky dip with a host of great prizes for adults and children.

Everyone received a free Heart of Sidley water bottle and were encouraged to pop by the refill station where all water was kindly donated by Tesco Extra Hastings and Tesco Superstore Bexhill.

We're a key partner and business supporter of the local Heart of Sidley community partnership.

Our staff ran a stall filled with information for residents, ranging from Employment Support to training opportunities with Health Works and Finanical Inclusion information. And the our Resident Involvement Team were on hand to talk about its services.

Jay Carroll, Chair – Heart of Sidley, said: “It was great to see such community spirit with people of all ages coming together for a fabulous day out. It’s fantastic to hold a free event which can be enjoyed by the whole community. Thank you to everybody who attended, including Bexhill Mayor Kathy Harmer, and to all our lovely volunteers for their help. We hope you had an amazing time.”
