Here are just some ways we can work together:

Your neighbourhood

Work with staff to help us identify priorities and issues in your area.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with local community groups, as well as support and develop projects to address the things that matter to you.

Have a look at how we’re performing when it comes to repairs, meet with our contractors and tell us if we can do anything differently.

Help us to review our process so we can see whether we’re getting it right.

Tell us if they’re fair for residents and whether they represent good value for money.

Get down into the detail of how we do business.

This is a chance to look at the nitty gritty and use your report-writing skills to tell us how we can do better.

Customer experience

Work with us to provide a better customer experience for you and your fellow residents, including improving our digital services.

Do you have experience in customer service? Good at problem solving and communication?

Bring your skills to a committee, which meets four times a year.

How can you make a difference?

Some of our involved residents tell us how they have helped to make a positive impact in their community:

Andrew from Minster says:

Image: Involved Optivo resident AndrewI got involved because I realised I could either sit at home all day watching the television – or I could get out and do something to try and improve the neighbourhood I lived in.

As an involved resident I feel like my opinions matter and within just a few months I felt like I was really making a difference. I honestly believe Optivo cannot do the job without residents and residents cannot make things better without Optivo.

Angela from Sittingbourne says:
I was angry about antisocial behaviour on my estate; it left me feeling unsafe in my home. I spoke up about it and my housing officer did something about it.

After that I wanted to see what else would happen if I got more involved. Since then I’ve helped with lots of things. It’s really made a difference in my life. I feel valued and it’s brought my confidence back up after suffering with post-natal depression.

Michelle from London says:

I had always heard through my neighbour about the great things residents were doing to improve our community; I wanted to be part of that.

I really feel I can bring something as a resident through my involvement and I feel more confident as a result
