At Optivo our residents are at the heart of everything we do. We need to make sure our work reflects your expectations and want you to feel safe, secure and happy in your home from the day you move in.

We want to work with you to design, monitor and scrutinise our services. Here are some of the ways you can help:

  • Resident panels

At Optivo we have a resident governance structure – this ensures that residents and staff work together to identify what’s working well and where we can make improvements.

  • Complete surveys

Your opinion really can make a difference! We’re always looking for ways to improve our services. Keep an eye out for any surveys we share on our website, by email or social media.

  • Join focus groups

A resident at a recent feedback sessionOur resident involvement teams look to gain feedback so that we can identify improvements. Want to find out more about these sessions? Join our contact list.

  • Become a mystery shopper

Our mystery shoppers help us to test the quality of our services by secretly performing tasks. This feedback is then used to shape our services.  You can even do this from the comfort of your own home, for example testing the way we deal with telephone or email enquiries.

  • Become a Resident Monitor

Resident Monitors accompany staff on post inspections of completed work, including day to day repairs, estate inspections and empty properties. Whilst the staff member concentrates on the technical elements of the work, the Monitor speaks to our residents about their experience of having the work done.

  • Give email feedback

We cherish all feedback, good and bad. Find out how you can contact us with a comment, compliment or complaint.

Getting involved with us here at Optivo is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills along the way. Whether you’re interested in becoming an involved panel member or can only spare a little time, we’d still love to hear from you.

If you’d like to find out more about how you can make a different please complete our online form and a member of the resident involvement team will be in touch to discuss the options with you.

How can you make a difference?

Some of our involved residents tell us how they have helped to make a positive impact in their community:

Angela from London says:

I’ve learned a lot of new skills by being involved, as well as making a difference to Optivo and the services our residents receive.

Geoff from Birmingham says:
"I recently joined the resident governance structure. Before my first meeting I was a bit daunted, but on the day, everyone was so nice and supportive, I really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to more meetings, to look further at Optivo services in the Midlands region.”

Michelle from Kent says:

I had always heard through my neighbour about the great things residents were doing to improve our community; I wanted to be part of that. I really feel I can bring something as a resident through my involvement and I feel more confident as a result.”

Ray from Sussex says:

I joined to have a say and find out exactly how things work, and be involved. Recently I realised I had enough time to volunteer with Optivo and the opportunity arose by attending a local get together and then being invited to a taster. The first meeting was very informative with lots of detail and looking forward to our next meeting..”
