Optivo has won its first awards!

07 July 2017

Optivo has won its first awards, just a month after forming.

We picked up the accolade of ‘Outstanding Customer Satisfaction’ at the Constructing Excellence in London and the South East awards on 29 June.

There was a particular focus on our Extra Care schemes at The Orangery in Bexhill, and Regis Gate, in Sittingbourne, Kent.

Judges were impressed with how we’ve “changed people’s lives” and provided a “promising vision for an ageing population”.

The awards are open to the who housing sector and recognise inspirational projects, teams and individuals.

The Extra Care schemes provide personalised care, top notch facilities with a hotel feel and state of the art apartments designed to make residents’ later years stress free and happy. They’re a long way from a residential care home as residents retain their independence and have support when they need it.

Neill Tickle, Land & New Business Director at Optivo, said: “Extra Care housing is a fantastic solution for older people - one we at Optivo strongly believe in.

I’m particularly proud of this award as it’s for our entire Extra Care offer. We demonstrated how we integrate superb housing management and support into the quality Extra Care buildings we build

And how we consider all aspects of a scheme from the design right through to the after sales and customer care. Being thoughtful of need helps us stand apart from others – that’s a real team effort.’’

One of the judges commented: “They (Optivo) have improved and developed their accommodation and services and delivered tangible and positive benefits for their residents.

We’re currently developing a further two Extra Care schemes – Rogallo Place, at Horsted Park in Medway, Kent, and Atlas Place at St Mary’s Island in Chatham, Kent.

Rogallo Place will feature 63 one and two bedroom homes and is due to open at the end of this year. Atlas Place features 62 homes and is due to open in March 2018.

Optivo will now move forward into the National Constructing Excellence Awards later this year.

And on Thursday (6 July), we won a Housing Association National Accountancy (HANA) award for Best Financial Communications. The award ceremony, held in London, recognises success in social housing finance.

Over 350 social housing finance professionals attended the ceremony to hear the winners announced and celebrate the sector's finance achievements.
