Last year we supported 4,745 people on community projects with 1,045 people progressing into jobs and training.

Resident Nathaniel attended the House of Commons with some of our staff on Tuesday 27 November to help highlight the team’s work.

Nathaniel was unemployed when he met our team. Powered by Optivo, he’s is now starting a career as a Travel Sales Manager.

The event at the House of Commons was organised by Give us a Chance (GUAC), a leading consortium of social landlords (including us) who are rising to the challenge of helping people into work. The event also saw the launch of the new Communities that Work campaign.

Attendees included Employment Minister Alok Sharma MP and other GUAC members.

The Communities that Work campaign, which is being supported by 24Housing magazine, will be seeking to raise awareness for the work that Housing Associations do to help people into work.

The UK’s social housing sector is one of the largest investors in tackling unemployment in the social housing sector.
