There are some very pretty shops in Battle High Street. Lots of coffee shops, pubs, and restaurants. For those who like to walk, Great Battle Woods are approximately one mile from the town. Also at the top of Battle High Street is the start of the 1066 Walk down through the fields and over the stiles. There are art galleries in the high street for art lovers. The market is held twice a week in the square by Jempson's Supermarket. For book worms there is Battle Library in the high street.
